Our programmes are rooted in the Tshivenda phrase “Pfunzo Ndi Pfumo”, which embraces the words of the Great Tata Nelson Mandela when he said “Education is the most powerful Weapon which you can use to change the world.” The organization operate in the premise that ‘Every child has a right to quality education’ and engage in various activities that help enhance learning opportunities for young South Africans.
Extra
Tuition Programmes
Muandiso has established centres where learners from underperforming schools are supported with extra lessons on weekends and school holidays. The focus is mainly on rural and peri-urban schools that face a number of challenges such as lack of basic learning resources, lack of motivation and high level of unemployment and poverty. Subjects supported at these centres include mathematics, physical science, life science, accounting and English. Projects are supported by funding from various corporates that are committed to change the face of education in rural communities while developing a pipeline of learners to support with bursaries and possible future employment.
Reproducing
the Future
STEM
Most of the companies supporting Muandiso programmes are looking to develop learners who can excel in the areas of science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) related careers. The organisation therefore work with these companies to create awareness of such careers and their contribution in the various sectors of the economy.
Career Guidance
Most of the learners in rural communities are not aware of the many career opportunities available to them and Muandios play a major role providing learners with this critical information through career expos, workshops and mentorship. The organisation is authorised to facilitate career choice workshops using BRAINWAVE material.
Bursaries and institutions of Higher Learning
Learners are also assisted with information on how to apply for bursaries and to understand the requirements for entry at institutions of higher learning.
